One arrived. One was already home.
Mango came to the Caribbean by way of war.
In 1782, a French ship carrying mango plants from Mauritius toward Saint-Domingue was captured by Captain Marshall of Admiral Rodney’s squadron and brought instead to Jamaica. There, mango took root — becoming dozens of named varieties, songs, memories, and a season generations have learned to wait for.
Guava tells an older story. A fruit of the tropical Americas, it was already part of Caribbean life long before mango arrived — familiar, fragrant, and sought out when the good trees came into fruit.
Mango Time brings the two together: one carried here by history, one already home.
